On the crossroads
For centuries, the Grote Kerk has stood at the intersection of routes, stories, and people. Located in the heart of the city, it now operates as a dynamic cultural stage.
Graphic designer Irma Boom developed a new visual identity in which the cross is central — not merely as a symbol, but as an organising principle. The church as a point of convergence: of movement, meaning, and encounter. This concept became the foundation for the interior.
Timeless modular elements for a timeless monument
Space for Culture and Change
Today, the church hosts exhibitions, cultural programming, and art installations. The new elements support this diversity of use, enabling flexibility without compromising the character of the monument.
In this way, the church remains a place of gathering — where layers of history and contemporary use intersect.
